Interesting Facts:

The magnificent Pilanesberg National Park offers up to 55 000ha of nature’s most wondrous creations, and
features plenty fascinating rock formations, spectacular views and important archeological sites such as San Rock
Artwork. 40km north of Rustenburg, this popular park is situated on the eroded remains of an extinct alkaline crater
      – one of only three of its kind in the world.

8. Pilanesberg Nature Reserve Safari 3 Days and 2 Nights

Day 1
We depart from OR Tambo international Airport or accommodation of your choice to Pilanesberg Nature Reserve. The nature reserve is in the North West Province, set in a crater of a long-time extinct volcano. We travel to Hartbeespoortdam where we will have our first stop at Chameleon Village, filled with authentic African craft markets. From thereon, we continue our journey through the town Rustenburg to the Pilanesberg Nature Reserve. We enter the camp that afternoon and allow you to settle into your luxury safari tent at Bakgatla camp after which we depart on a sunset game drive in an open safari vehicle. For dinner that evening, we will have a traditional braai (barbeque) and relax by a camp fire before ending off the day.

Day 2
We embrace the African Sunrise with early morning coffee, tea and rusks before heading out deep into the bush on a game drive. This time of the day is one of the best game viewing opportunities before the heat of the day sets in. We return to camp for breakfast and then continue our full day game drive until late afternoon. By now you should be identifying animals and birds with ease. Back at the camp we relax before dining at the camp restaurant.

Day 3
Shake of the night’s sleep with early morning tea, coffee and rusks before taking a morning safari drive in an open safari vehicle.

The day’s activities will include game viewing with a hearty breakfast back at the camp’s restaurant. After our meal we spend the day traveling the roads of the reserve to spot game, birds and the ‘Big 5’ of Africa. We travel to various waterholes where wildlife often congregates, learning more about their habits and behavior in their very own habitat. You will have a unique opportunity to witness Africa’s wildlife at its best.

Late afternoon we exit the reserve and make some final stops to do some souvenir shopping. We then travel back to Gauteng, marking the end of our tour.
